My son was originally diagnosed with bipolar disorder, mild autism, and mild Aspberger’s. A few years ago, he had a very bad reaction to an injected psych medication. My brother received stem cell treatment applied directly to his kidney from Precision StemCell’s doctors, using image guidance. His creatinine had been high and climbing from numerous surgeries. - While I know this isn't a cure, I believe this procedure helped me. After a lot of research and thought, I decided to give it a try in order to get some improvement and stabilization until an EAP or early approval is granted to other drugs and treatments in the pipeline. As of today, I'm 4.5 months post-procedure. My FVC has gone from 41 to 46 percent. I still use a BIPAP 5-6 hours per night, but no longer need it during the day. I have movement in my right hand again, and regained the ability to move my several of my toes. Hand and feet movements are noticeable if not measurable at this point. I have stabilized in some other areas, and have much slower progression in others. Precision StemCell’s investigational stem cell procedure has given me hope. I will do it again if and when needed. - I will list for you the results I have experienced:
1. after a wk. or more, twitchings in muscles stopped.
2. after a month, walking in pool dramatically improved. Left leg picked up and hadn't been. Now can move backwards, forward, sideways... all in pool.
3. no improvement when having to fight gravity. (on land!!)
4. improvement in weight-lifting with physical therapist--do this twice/weekly. have been able to increase wts. with affected arm and leg. (mine is one-sided still, affecting only left part of body...)

- Remember the name, Precision StemCell, in about a years time they will be in the news for his treatment of ALS. Its not a cure but it will help till their is a cure. My wife had his treatment but it was to late to help her. Posted on forum 1/2/13
- i recieved my treatment on dec 3rd. amazingly 4 short days later my toes on my left foot began to move more, i only had about a 1/4 inch of movement prior to the treatment, now it has been almost a month and i have 3/4 inch of movement. my doctor at UAB in birmingham al. says there is no cure for als. im just waiting until my next visit with him in march to see the look on his face! lol.
